Firstly, the Practice manager should register the new GP / Nurse firstly...

  1. Go to the erx registration portal - https://register.erx.com.au/asprescriber
  2. Fill out the users details, the perscription number can be found here : ReferralFlowchartNMH.25May2021-CYPLAP126-CYPLAP143.xlsx (sharepoint.com) . Look in Tab "HlthStaffDetails".  If you do not have access to this file, then please request from Charmaine.
  3. In the Site ID, enter : BPS ID - 16417
  4. Use itsupport@cyp.org.au as the Practice email.
  5. Submit and Agree to terms.


Following that, you should receive an email with the new users details for erx.  With those details, then please follow the procedure below to complete the setup for the user.


Note - you can skip steps 1-5 if you just run the "erx setup.exe" shortcut on the desktop.


  1. to the BP Server - svrcyhbp-01.cyh.local
  2. Open C:\
  3. Open Program files
  4. Open Best Practice Software
  5. Open BPS 
  6. Locate and run erx setup.exe
  7. Login with administrator credentials.
  8. Click Setup Users
  9. Double-click on the user required.
  10. Enter the Entity ID as supplied from the email.
  11. Click on the ... Icon under "Enter the Certificate file to use"
  12. Locate the "Nash 2023" (Current folder is : "C:\Certificate archive\NASH Certificates\2023") and select the site.p12 file inside
  13. Within that folder, there is a PIC.txt file which contains the password, enter this in the certificate file's password field.
  14. Click "Save"
  15. Open services (normally via mmc, add snap in on the local machine) and restart the erx service (ERX Standard Adapter Service).  This may prevent any issues later on when the user attempts to log in.
  16. Request the user log out and back in, in order to access scripts.
