Install Printer

  1. First download printer drivers to a desired location.
  2. Locate Printer server (Generally a 02 server).
  3. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  4. Add a printer
  5. The printer that I want isn't listed
  6. Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
  7. Create a new port
  8. Standard TCP/IP port
  9. Add devices IP Address
  10. Uncheck "Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use.
  11. Custom, Click Next
  12. Click Have disk, navigate to the folder location in step 1
  13. Add Naming Convetion (EG: Gordonvale NMH Brother MFC-L3760CDW SEWB)
  14. Right Click Printer click on "Printer Properties"
  15. Go to Sharing Tab
  16. Tick all 3 boxes.
  17. Go to Advanced Tab
  18. Click on Printing Defaults.
  19. Change printer Black and white (to save toner) and enable Double sided printing.
  20. Click OK


Group Policy

  1. Open Group Policy Management
  2. Locate current Printer Policy, right click and click edit.
  3. User Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Printers
  4. Right Click > New > Shared Printer
  5. Action : Create
  6. Locate Printer by share path.
  7. Under Common, tick box "Run in logged-on user's security context (user policy option)
